The advantage of a wooden ark is that unlike tin or plastic wood breathes, therefore, you do not get condensation causing damp and mould.  In summer you do not get a greenhouse effect.  A raised wooden floor eliminates ground dampness creeping up.  As pigs love to have a good scratch we put an extra frame in at shoulder height for support.  All arks come with skids so they are easy to move.  An option of farrowing slats can be incorporated in the unit, the rear door of the ark is fully removable.
